One of Melbourne's most prolific vocalists, Sarah is a singer/songwriter and performs in many different settings and genres - constantly delighting audiences with her rich voice, beautiful tone & amazing vocal range. She will be joined by the Joe Ruberto Quartet - when only the best will do! With Gianni Marinucci on brass, Dean Addison on bass, Gideon Marcus on drums & Joe Ruberto on piano - what a line up! Having been influenced by singers such as Sarah Vaughn, Billie Holiday, Nancy Wilson and Ella Fitzgerald from an early age, she has developed into a seasoned performer. Tamara, a Melbourne based melody maker, is all about bringing back the sass and sophistication of that vintage era of music with her own modern, sultry yet playful twist. A lover of storytelling through song, Tamara’s unique and versatile vocal styling has been inspired by a diverse palette of female vocalists such as Doris Day, Sarah Vaughan & Joni Mitchell. ANZAC Day holds deep meaning at The Rising Sun Hotel.
Our name and Rising Sun emblem share a close connection to our location and heritage, just moments from the Melbourne Shrine of Remembrance. Each year, we are proud to welcome ex-servicemen and women, along with their families, as we honor their service and sacrifice.
We open from 9am, providing a warm and respectful place for those attending the Shrine services to gather before and after the commemorations.
Live on our big screens, we show the annual AFL ANZAC Day clash between Essendon & Collingwood — a great Australian sporting tradition that brings people together in the spirit of the day.
If you’re looking for a venue to soak up the ANZAC Day atmosphere — with family, friends and the wider community — you can’t go past The Rising Sun for a memorable and meaningful experience.
